EasyOTA’s story is deeply tied to the safari industry and the incredible people who bring it to life. What began as a single solution to a challenge has grown into a platform that simplifies operations and helps safari businesses across the industry succeed and grow.

It all started in 2003, when our founder, Matt, was navigating the rugged roads of East Africa as an overland safari driver. One destination stood out: Kilwa Masoko—a breathtaking coastal gem accessible only after a gruelling 12-hour drive. It was here that Matt witnessed the challenges safari operators faced in connecting travellers to extraordinary destinations.

With no online systems in place, operators relied on complex, time-consuming processes to manage bookings. Drawing on his background in computer science, Matt developed a hotel reservation system tailored to the unique needs of safari operators. It was a breakthrough—and the spark of a much larger vision.
