This week, EasyOTA founder Matt Bell will be traveling from Germany and meeting Bertie Cordingley, Head of Growth, to attend the World Travel Market in London, and here’s why…
Do you ever feel like the world’s spinning so fast you might just fling off if you don’t hold on tight? 🌍
That’s how the travel industry feels right now—especially in the tech space.
So, Matt is packing his bags (and maybe a snack or two) and heading to London to attend the World Travel Market London at the ExCel Centre.
Why make the schlep all the way to from Frankfurt to London? Can he not learn all his can from ‘tinternet? No.
Because sometimes you’ve got to be where the action is to make things happen.
To see things in their bold, bright & beautiful technicolour to get a full flavour for what’s going on in the world. Much like the reason’s you’d travel to Tanzania to crane your necks at the giraffes or to take a walk on the wild side with the wildebeest rather than Googling images or watching them on YouTube.
SO to get really specific, here’s what’s pulling him across borders:
1. Rubbing Shoulders with the World’s Travel Mavericks
Over 40,000 professionals from 184 countries under one roof—it’s like the Olympics of travel but without the sweating (unless you count running between seminars). Meeting fellow travel enthusiasts, tech innovators, and maybe even that one person who’s been to more countries than Matt. Challenge accepted.
2. Diving into the Latest Travel Tech
Let’s be real—keeping up with travel tech is like trying to catch a cheetah on a caffeine rush. ⚡️ Attending WTM means getting a front-row seat to the latest gadgets, software, and ideas that’ll shape how we develop the features of EasyOTA to explore the world next.
3. Spreading the Word About EasyOTA and FIT
Shameless plug alert! 🚀 Matt and Bertie are beyond excited to showcase EasyOTA’s new feature, Fully Independent Traveller (FIT). Imagine offering fully customizable safari experiences with real-time pricing and availability. It’s like giving travel agents a superpower—minus the cape (but he’s open to capes).
4. Learning, Unlearning, and Relearning
The industry’s changing faster than you can say “booked it!” so the guys are looking forward to soaking up insights, challenging old notions, and maybe having a lightbulb moment or two during the seminars.
5. Because FOMO Is Real
Fear of missing out—not just on the latest trends but on the chance to be part of the conversation shaping the future of travel. Plus, who can resist the allure of London in the autumn? 🍂
So, there’s the nutshell of why Matt is making the trek from Germany to London this week, but you can be sure there will be far more nuts or gems of info gathered at the event. If you’re around, he’d love to grab a coffee (or a pint, your call) and chat about all things travel, tech, and turning “what if” into “why not?”
See you at the ExCel Centre!
